 FAQs

  • For most households, an annual sweep is recommended. However, if you use your fireplace or stove frequently (more than 3 times a week during winter), you might need a sweep twice a year. I can advise on the best schedule for your specific situation during our first visit.

  • While I primarily serve Anglesey, I also cover areas within about 20 minutes' drive off the bridge. This includes places like Caernarfon, Bethesda, and as far as Bangor. If you're unsure whether I cover your area, please get in touch!

  • Not much! Just ensure there's clear access to the fireplace or stove and that the fire is out and cool. I'll take care of protecting the surrounding area and cleaning up afterwards. Remember, I aim to leave your home as clean as I found it.

  • Absolutely! Besides sweeping, I offer stove maintenance, minor repairs, and parts replacement. I can also fit cowls to prevent bird nests, conduct CCTV inspections, and provide pre-installation sweeps for new stove fittings. If you have any specific chimney or stove-related needs, just ask!

  • There are a few signs to watch out for: difficulty starting fires, smoke entering the room, a strong odour from the fireplace, or soot falling into the stove or fireplace. However, even if you don't notice these signs, regular sweeping is crucial for maintaining efficiency and safety. When in doubt, it's always best to have a professional check.
